The energetic new single from Miesha and The Spanks is the excellent ‘Mom Jeans / Mom Genes’. Her crisp vocals form the crux of the track, effortlessly sprawling above that gritty, funky accompaniment. The thick, punky guitar work is blues-influenced and endlessly memorable as it clashes against Sean Hamilton’s cyclical percussion. “It's more than just about the new mom-fit jeans that I'm wearing though, that's just the metaphor,” explains Miesha. “It's also the super tough mom genes that get us through that day to day of ups and downs and emotional manipulations and breakthroughs and pure joy that come with our role as Matriarch.” Be sure to check out the upcoming album, Unconditional Love In Hi-Fi, when it drops on April 14th, 2023.
